What the....? When the....? Where the...? How the....?

The above mentioned title accurately describes the state of my mind this morning.

Here I was, up at my regular time of 9:00 am, a cup of tea in my hand, sitting in front of the TV.
I was casually flicking through the channels when I stopped on NDTV 24/7 and read the headlines " India pledges monetary aid in millions of $ to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina "

What the....? When the....?Where the...?How the....? ...Precisely. I thought this must be some sort of a monster typo but there it was..

The headlines itself was a cruel joke on the Mumbaites.
Is the government run by some brain dead bozos. Or is this some real example of "ass licking"

Please help me out here. On one hand the government can't spare money for the affected of their very own great city ravaged by rains. The very city which powers the economic engine of this country, the very city whose tax returns are more than many of the states combined, and on the other hand they pledge money to the country presided by a primate who is currently engaged in some very serious milking business. Agreed the incident is very sad but WTF.

Whats wrong with these people. The world knows the monkey ruled country is quite capable of handling this disaster. They have enough money stashed in Locker nos IRQ/fooled them/666 and AFGN/stupd/911 to bale them out.

This act of lending monetary support to country which actually does not need it, instead of their own city is beyond my comprehension.

Man I am waiting for the official press release from Mr Natawarlal and the Lungi clad Mr C. (goddamn wear a pant !!)

Seriously WTF !!

Seriously, WTF?

Maybe they know something you dont know? Hehe
I mean, maybe the money will go to help the many Indians in America affected by the Hurricane? Although, Im not sure many Indians live on the gulf coast.

You have to say though, the headline was good for a nice chuckle :), maybe your governement will surprise you. My government surprises me all the time. That usually ends with me saying...how stupid can you be, but hey, it was a surprise nonetheless.

You see... the bully has the rest of the block scared. It's typical. Just like in South America, the leader that the US was calling for an assasination on... he donated money to New Orleans.

It makes me a little sick.

I admit I reacted similarly when i first read the news.
But the point to note here is that countries use this as show of solidarity and support. No country is an island, to paraphrase the qoute. Why even the small island Sri Lanka, half drowned itself, donated $25k to the victims.
Call it posturing or genuine help, the money is not just money. It says 'we are with you'.
Though a nation that doesn't pay its dues to the IMF and World bank and UN, running into millions and billions of dollars and spends 1.1 trillion dollars annually on defense (war/attack?) should have refused all help. Just like India did for the aid that was on offer for the Tsunami victims.
Two IAF IL 76 transports were waiting fueled, loaded and ready for take-off on the Nagpur runway waiting for clearance from US departments for 48 hours!
All they were carrying were supplies to help the flood affected victims. When they did get clearance, the 2 aircraft flew non-stop to US. So much for being grateful.
